April 13, 2013 13:00 pm, "Metro Public Art" sub-forum was held at 2nd floor of Triumph Palace Hall C of Gu Cun Park Hotel. Professor Cao Yijiang, Convener of the Artistic Disciplines Consultative of the State Council, Dean, College of Arts and Humanities of China Academy of Art, hosted the forum. Ms. Tamsin Dillon, the head of Art on London Underground in UK talked about London Underground project. She said “ How to make sense in a complex environment like the London Underground and how to do it? The London Underground project tries to answer these questions.”
Ms. Tamsin Dillon hereby introduced a series of various forms and contents public art works they did including Mark Wallinge’s 270 different art works, Sarah Morris’Subway station exhibition, posters, digital artwork, experiment songs, live interaction.
“We want to create world-class arts for world-class metros, which is the mission of our subway. World-class city needs world-class metros. We want to create world-class arts in order to improve environmental experience of subway passengers and the reputation of the London underground.” Ms Tamsin Dillon concluded. |
