April 13, 2013 13:00 pm, "Metro Public Art" sub-forum was held at 2nd floor of Triumph Palace Hall C of Gu Cun Park Hotel. Professor Cao Yijiang, Convener of the Artistic Disciplines Consultative of the State Council, Dean of College of Arts and Humanities of China Academy of Art, hosted the forum.
Professor Hirokawa Keichi, JPN, Member of International Relations Committee, Japanese Society of Commercial Space Designers, visiting professor of College of Fine Arts, Shanghai University, made a speech entitled “Public Art of Osaka Subway”.
According to his introduction, Osaka station’s public space has 20 floors of hotel and malls, Japanese garden landscape, the latest environment-friendly solar energy, wind power generation, rainwater facility for watering sky farm and health facilities. The recycle system of rain and miscellaneous drainage are the latest concept designing in the world.
There are 5 subways and 3 private subways in the five floors of underground. JR also has nearly ten trams networks. The station not only has the most modern equipment and art plaza, but also has leisure facilities with flowers and birdsong. Within the limited space, artists and designers brought public art from ground fully into the underground and excellently completed a three-dimensional public art project. |
