Professor Ding Yi believes that the concept of the desgning of Shanghai Expo public art project is collection, source, poly, and rhyme. The layout of the works considered the landscape and overall shape. The considerations are ranging from arrangement and connection of each art works, geographical features reflection, and Chinese traditions from visual and psychological perspective.
In addition, use the concept of “six points and one line” to position the relationship between public art and Expo Axis. Six Sun Valley has been transformed by public art design concept. Six Sun Valley’s transformation can be summarized into six sentences: Finding the source of the city, Recording city’s imprinting, Continuing the urban context, Concerning about contemporary life, Expressing cultural fashion, Concentrating life experiences. The six Sun alley were defined as "a valley of water, a valley of natural, a valley of pleasure, a valley of pavilion, a valley of image."
In addition, we designed a tourist car line at the second floor of Expo platform which is 1045 meter length across north to south. This line has the following corresponding business themes: Pleasure, Fashion, Trends and Taste. |
